At Frenich Farm

For those who need something to do; you can borrow our bicycles, we have 4, bring your own helmets, borrow our rowing-boat, bring your own life-jackets. Bring your fishing rods as we have the fishing rights on about 1/2 mile of Loch frontage and or go for some lovely leg stretching walks.  Also you can use Frenich as a springboard for sightseeing day-trips to a multitude of locations within easy reach, please see our Useful Links page for some ideas. Also check our Special Packages page as we periodically run various specials throughout the year. We also have a Midge-Magnet so are not too bothered with the dreaded "tartan army"  and although mobile phones don't work up here (great we hear you say!) we do have Wi-Fi which you are most welcome to use. The West Highland Way and four of the Munro mountains are close-by including Ben Lomond which is very accessible from the farm. Inversnaid, Loch Lomond and Stronachlacher, Loch Katerine are nearby as is Loch Ard, where there are opportunities to dinghy sail and participate in other water sports. At Loch Katrine you can take a trip on the famous Walter Scott Steamer. Also only a few miles away is the only Lake in Scotland, Lake of Mentieth, well known for its trout fishing, The Inchmahome Priory and Nick Nairn's cookery school and great restaurant at "The Lake".

Generally Frenich Farm is close to:

Inversnaid & Stronachlacher: - Where you can fine a lovely tea room at the pier, The Bunkhouse restaurant (open for drinks & dinner Frid to Sunday) The Inversnaid Hotel bar, where you can enjoy a glass of wine overlooking the beautiful Loch Lomond

Kinlochard: –  The Wee Blether Tea room, great breakfasts and afternoon teas. Clay pigeon shooting at Ledard and visit, The Forest Hills brand new Beauty Spa & Swimming Pool.

Aberfoyle: – Local Supermarket (Co-op) open 8am-10pm, Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, David Marshall Lodge which has a "Go Ape" trail for the more adventurous. Two very good butchers and a variety of tea rooms and restaurants. The Scottish Wool Centre, Gift and Antique shops and the 18 hole Aberfoyle golf course. Well worth coming to is the famous "The Mushroom Festival" which is in October

Callander:- Great for rummaging around lots of good gift and outdoor clothing shops there are also quite a few good restaurants and an excellent fresh fish shop called Mhor Fish who give daily cookery demo's during the main summer season.

Stirling: - Lots to do here in the City of Stirling, so much infact it is probably better to go to the link and see for yourself, there just isn't the space to mention it all here. But remember Stirling Castle and The William Wallace monument both really well worth a visit for the historical buff's as well as the kids.

If you want to venture further

Glasgow Edinburgh Falkirk Perth are all well within two hours away, so great for a day out
